I believe that Bob actually covered this in class but I cannot remember. Is the course grade truly percentage based or just a raw point total? i.e. you get an 80% on homeworks, 75% on midterm etc....or is do all the points simply add up and that determines your %

It's both. It starts with a percentage say for ex the midterm is 30% of your grade. And, you get an 80 on the midterm. So, 30% times 80 = 24. You now have 24 pts accumulated towards your grade. Add in your homeworks and final projects and the most points you can get = 100.
